The other day I was completely caught off guard! My Fiancé had asked me to book off a day for a surprise date. I was totally into the idea and was impressed that he was planning a day for us. It was pretty adorable. I didn’t ask many questions other than what outfit should I wear?
If you don’t know me, I got engaged last April 2015 to my amazing Irish fiancé and we will be saying ‘I do’ this October 2016. Even though we are getting married, we still have to work at our relationship and keep it strong. It does get challenging at times, however I think it’s important to plan little date nights and be aware of making each other feel special. It can be very easy to fall into a rut especially if you’ve been together for awhile and you become too comfortable. Having said that, I was very happy to know that he planned this day just for me.
Half an hour before our reservation on the day of the surprise date he told me that we were taking a plane ride around the city, I was so amazed! I thought maybe bowling or mini golf, but never was I expecting to take an Uber to Porter Airport that day and jump in a private plane! But we did and it was awesome.
Greater Toronto Airways made this experience so amazing, they even provided us with champagne for the ride. It was a 20 minute smooth cruise that went across the city’s skyline, down by the Scarborough Bluffs and then back up circling around the CN Tower a couple of times. It was magical.
Once we got back on the ground we were both starving and I had a craving for some Ramen. Having never been there before we went to Ramen Isshin in the West End because I’ve always wanted to go. This was THE most flavourful and satisfying Ramen I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the city or travelling to the city!
This Joint was rated 4.5 on Yelp but I give it an easy 5! They offer your choice of private or communal seating, the vibe is relaxed and casual and the staff was wonderful; warm welcomes in true Japanese fashion! I also enjoy places where its polite to slurp, just saying!
I ordered the Red Miso Spicy Ramen and the noodles and broth were out of this world. I can’t stop thinking about it.
All in all it was a pretty spectacular food/date day that I will always cherish.
